Educational information only — not financial advice. DecisionsCalc is an independent educational publisher. We are not a licensed or regulated financial adviser, investment firm, broker, attorney, accountant, tax agent, insurance broker, or healthcare provider in any country. Every calculator result, article, AI explanation, and downloadable checklist is general educational information, not personalised advice. Do not make a financial, legal, tax, medical, or insurance decision based solely on this website.

Who this is for & where figures apply

Our tools and guides are written for a general audience across English-speaking and developed markets. We currently provide localised figures for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Switzerland; each tool shows which country's data it is using and the date it was last updated. Where a market is not yet localised — or where a page states it — default values, averages, tax rules, and benchmarks may fall back to United States data and are provided as illustrative starting points. Costs, tax treatment, account types, benefits, and consumer-protection rules differ substantially by country, state/province, and over time — always confirm the current figures and rules for your own location before acting.

Not financial, legal, tax, medical, or insurance advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes regulated financial advice, an investment recommendation, legal advice, tax advice, or medical advice, and no professional or fiduciary relationship is created by using it. Before acting, consult a qualified, appropriately licensed professional in your jurisdiction — for example a financial adviser/planner, solicitor or attorney, accountant or tax adviser, or insurance and healthcare professionals. Examples of relevant credentials by region include CFP®, CFA, CPA, CA, IFA, and equivalents.

Keeping information current

We aim to keep figures, rates, limits, and rules current and review key data periodically. Even so, financial data and legislation change frequently, and there may be a lag between a change taking effect and our content being updated. Treat all figures as estimates that may not reflect the very latest position. If a number is critical to your decision, verify it against the original primary source (for example the relevant government agency or regulator) before relying on it.

Accuracy of estimates

We draw on reputable sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census Bureau, IRS, Economic Policy Institute, Genworth, the Kaiser Family Foundation, and peer-reviewed research, and we cite sources on each tool. However:

  • All figures are estimates based on national or regional averages
  • Actual outcomes vary significantly by location, provider, individual circumstances, and market conditions
  • Sources may not reflect the most recent changes in cost, rates, or law
  • Results are a starting point for your own research, not definitive figures

How our content and figures are produced (AI-assisted, not professionally reviewed)

DecisionsCalc is independently owner-operated and built with AI assistance. Our calculator models, default values, country data packs, and articles are compiled using AI-assisted research from the latest publicly available official sources (for example national statistics offices, tax authorities, and regulators). We aim to gather current, useful figures and we cite and date our sources — but this content is not reviewed or verified by a licensed financial professional, and individual figures are not independently fact-checked. AI-assisted research can contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date values, so every figure should be treated as an illustrative estimate. Where a country or tool has not been fully localised, its figures may be based on United States or other reference data. Always confirm any figure that matters to your decision against the current primary source, and seek personalised advice from a qualified professional, before relying on it. Our methodology page explains how each figure is sourced and dated.

AI-generated explanations

Some tools offer an optional AI explanation of your results. When you use it, the figures you entered are sent to our AI provider to generate the explanation. AI output is generated automatically, may contain errors or omissions, and is general educational information only — not advice. Verify anything important with a qualified professional and primary sources.
