Moving Abroad Planner
One spreadsheet for the whole move: what it costs, which month each payment falls in, how much to save each month to get there, and what to do when. It opens already filled in with the same sourced visa fees, rents and deposit rules as our free moving calculators, so you start from real numbers instead of a blank page.
What's inside
- Inputs. Where you move from, your visa route, household, city, move month, savings and monthly saving. Every other tab follows.
- Costs. The calculator's six lines (visa fees, flights, shipping, deposit and first rent, setting up, a buffer until payday), each low and high, with room for your real quotes and the source and checked date of every figure.
- Timeline. Nine months before the move to three months after: what to do each month, the money going out, the running total and whether your savings keep up.
- Savings target. The monthly saving you need by your move date, the gap against what you save now, and the proof of funds you must hold where the rules ask for it (Canada's Express Entry, the UK's Youth Mobility Scheme).
- Scenarios. Suitcases against a shared or full container, one city against another, and the fee your employer may pay.
- Checklist. Documents, customs forms, notice periods, tax, banking and the ID numbers to get on arrival, with a section for each country you can move from.
- Official links. Every source behind the figures, and the live processing-time trackers. We link to those instead of typing in a time, because they change every week.

Questions
- Does it work in Google Sheets?
- Yes. Upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets (or use File, Import). It also works in Excel (Windows and Mac), Apple Numbers and LibreOffice. It uses only standard formulas, with no macros.
- Where do the figures come from?
- From the same data as our free moving abroad calculators: official fee lists, official rent statistics and the deposit laws, each with its source and the date we checked it (29 October 2026). Flights, setting up and living costs are our estimates and say so. Visa processing times are links to the official trackers, never typed in.
- Can I try the numbers first?
- Yes: each moving calculator uses the same figures. The planner adds the month-by-month timeline, savings target, scenarios and checklist.
- How do I get it?
- Download links appear on this page as soon as payment is confirmed: usually within a minute, occasionally up to ten. The page's address then becomes your personal download link, so bookmark it (or use the copy button) to download again or get updated figures later. Lost it? Email hello@decisionscalc.com from the address on your Paddle receipt and we'll send it again.
- What if it isn't right for me?
- Ask for a refund within 14 days and you get your money back, even after downloading. See the refund policy.
- Is this immigration advice?
- No. It is general information and a planning tool. Whether you qualify for a visa, and which route suits you, is for the official immigration site or a registered adviser. Check every fee on the official page on the day you pay.
General information, not immigration advice. Fees change on fixed dates (Australia 1 July, Canada 30 April, the UK in April); when we refresh the figures, buyers download the new edition free.
